Manuel - Jim and others will be able to help more on this. I found this info on Extreme Motorsports(this is also what they told me when I called last week):

    9.0/22.0 x 13 (Honda non-turbo or w/small NOS)[EXM1708] $263.00/pair

    8.5/24.5 x 13 (Mitsu/Honda turbo w/big NOS) [EXM1709] $321.00/pair

    9.5/24.5 x 13 (Mitsu/Honda turbo w/big NOS (more traction))[EXM1710] $337.00/pair

    8.7/25.0 x 13 (Mitsu/Honda turbo w/big NOS (max traction))[EXM1711] $355.00/pair

Thanks BigKat, useful information. I guess the JRSC would be similar to a non with NOS?

    Manuel,

Here is the deciding factor: Has your car been lowered yet ???

If the answer is yes, then you must run a 22" tall slick... in which case the 22/8.0R13 or 22/9.0R13 are your choices.

If not, then you are free to run the taller 24.5" slicks. These slicks are better to lower your 60' times with high horsepower cars... and also work magic at the end of the track in improving the MPH.

My personal opinion is to get the 22" tall tires... that is what I run.

Smitty, I am unaware of any M/T slicks that will fit your application. However, M&H may have some. Call me at the shop and I will get you a number that you can call and check.

    Question

Hey guys, before I plunk my cash down, I need your input: What is the right size of slicks for a JRSC GSR and why? (with 13" Lenso wheels)
    Thanks

    Jim,
My car has been lowered, but don't forget, I have coil-overs. All I need to do is use a screw clamp to mark my height now and just raise the car however much I want. I can always return to the lowered state very easily smile that's the magic of coil-overs. Actually, I considered raising the rear anyway for better weight transfer using the same method. I can always go back to my height by simply screwing down the spring perches.

My question is more about what the effects of the larger 24.5" diameter or the smaller 22" diameters would have in my torque at launch, Will I bog down with the 24.5"s? will I spin my wheels with the 22"s?
I might be wrong but it seems that the 24.5" might save me 1 shift (3rd to 4th). It seems that now I have to shift into 4th almost as the 1/4 mile ends. It would be nice not to have to make that shift. OTOH, the 22" might give me more torque all through the run.
I just don't know. I would guess my car makes around 200 whp and prolly 150 or so foot pounds of torque. I now have the Fields SFC so I've tuned the tip in detonation out of the car. I suppose I can prolly run 10? or better BTDC, particularly if I run the 104 octane gas smile. I'm thinking this will have 2 good effects, firstly, I'd get the benefit of more response by advancing the timing and also, what most peeps don't talk about anymore: retarded timing causes the engine to run hotter. So I'd get a cooler engine/cooler charge?

Anyway, how does this sound? my best ever time so far was 14.14 @ 99.3 on street tires with around 8? btdc. What do you guys think?
